Douglas Carle was born in Bellingham, Washington. As a result of his father's highly successful career as vice president of the world's largest shoe retailer, Mr. Carle had the opportunity to live in various locations throughout the United States including; New York, Colorado, and Southern California.
Following his father’s retirement from the shoe business, Mr. Carle and his family immigrated to Canada and took up residence in their much loved "summer cottage" on the shores of Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan; where they had vacationed every previous summer. Mr. Carle thereafter grew up in the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan “Lakeland” area and still has family there today. While in high school, Mr. Carle excelled in basketball, being a co-captain of a provincial finalist 4A team. As well, he was elected president of the student body of the largest high school in Saskatchewan. During this time, he was also actively involved in local and federal politics, having been involved in many elections, most notably, in the last political campaign of John G. Diefenbaker. Mr. Carle was president of the local youth wing of a major federal political party and remained active in politics throughout his time in university.
Mr. Carle entered the University of Saskatchewan and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. Thereafter, he was admitted to the U of S College of Law where he graduated with his Juris Doctor in 1988.
Douglas Carle articled with the law firm of Whitmore and Company in Regina, Saskatchewan where he accepted an associate position following his admission as a Barrister and Solicitor to the Law Society of Saskatchewan. During his 9 years of practice in Saskatchewan, he obtained a great deal of experience in all levels of courts with an emphasis on family and criminal law litigation.
Douglas and his two beautiful daughters, Cassandra and Paige, “took the leap” and followed the exciting road west to Alberta in 1997. Thereafter, Douglas accepted the position as HR Manager/In House Counsel with Lamb Weston, one of the world’s largest potato processors (a division of ConAgra, one of the world’s largest agricultural and food based corporations) at their new proposed Taber, Alberta facility. Douglas was directly responsible for the hiring of over 200 new employees at the production facilities as well as being vested with the responsibility of their training and implementation into the facility. Being the first Canadian employee of Lamb Weston, Mr. Carle, in his role as HR Manager and In House Counsel, was responsible for implementing all health, safety, insurance and benefit packages for the workforce as well as being responsible for many aspects of the legal issues surrounding the new plant. Mr. Carle was instrumental in the extremely exciting work creating a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility from the ground up to its implementation and day-to-day operation.
In 2002, after spending three years as “in-house” Counsel for Lamb Weston, Douglas decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning and operating his own law firm under the name of Carle Law Office. Douglas maintains his extremely close ties to Lamb Weston.
Based out of Coaldale, Alberta, Carle Law Office has established itself as a “go to” litigation firm in Southern Alberta when seeking tough and passionate representation. Mr. Carle has the reputation and experience to represent all manner of clients.
Although Doug is a true Canadian at heart, one of his greatest passions is spending time at his Las Vegas home with his three dogs. Not withstanding that he may be at his "Las Vegas office", he is in constant contact and consultation with his excellent staff. Doug is never more than a telephone call or email away from his most important clients - which is all of them.
